My Story

My approach with the built environment is to be a pioneer for a sustainable future. From a young age, I was taught to be aware of the consequences of my actions, but it was not until studying at SCAD that I realized the true effect each decision I make has on the planet. Each preservation and sustainability class further opened my eyes to the negative impact of the built environment. As a result, I have made the conscious choice to design with intention and consideration, focusing on adaptive reuse as a tool for incorporating sustainability into the field of preservation.

I am passionate, determined, and an advocate - three skills that are much needed in an often underfunded, undervalued field.

My Approach

My rigorous education at SCAD, my commitment to preservation advocacy groups through volunteer work, and leadership roles in related affiliations have equipped me with the foundation of skills and knowledge needed to enter this field. My employment history not related to preservation has provided me with valuable skills regarding accountability and dependability. With my retail position, I was responsible for running all aspects of customer service, teaching me invaluable communication skills as well as people skills in general, working with people of different backgrounds and with different mindsets.

I am a go-getter who has learned to become the best advocate for myself, so I am quick to point out that I am a fast and eager learner who can provide an employer with the skills needed to successfully complete any job after minimal guidance.
